BULLIED BALL
GENRE: Arcade/Action
WORK SETTINGS: Personal project made alone
PLAYER: 1 - 2
DATE: 2023

WHAT I DID: Everything but I used music and sounds from the internet.
(For android devices)
Although this project is quite simple, I wanted to publish a game that I had made entirely by myself (except for the sounds I got from the internet), on a popular platform so that my family and friends could play it.
I was pleased to see that my friends enjoyed it and that we played for several weeks to see who would get the best score.
I almost forgot to thank my brilliant friend Mateo who helped me program the multi-touch input.

Bullied Ball is a game inspired by Pong, but not based on confrontation.
You must control each bar on the screen to make the ball bounce and collect points for the highest score.
Be careful, different events will spice things up.

SOME OF MY THOUGHT PROCESS
-
While ChatGPT was all over the news, I wanted to create an alternative to Pong where you didn't have to play against an AI.
-
Initially, the goal of the game was to make as many hits as possible to get the best score.
To add a minimum of challenge, I added events, which are more complex phases of the game where the player has a greater chance of losing.
-
By trying and comparing several Pong games, I realised that it was the aiming that was fun, not the simple act of hitting the ball back.
That's why I added a random spawn of points that the player must collect to increase his score.
-
A bonus system (up to 10) makes the pace of the game more dynamic and rewards the player's precision, making every exchange decisive!
-
After several games, some players found the start of the game too long and complained about the ball's slowness.
So I changed the ball speed curve to suit regular players, without increasing the initial ball speed, so that new players could get used to it.
